Este baile de Chiapas, México, fué presentado a bailadores internacionales en el Festival Folklórico Internacional en 1991 por Felipa (Feli) Sánchez P.

 1. Valseados.
1-43 valseados en vuelta a la D y caravana pié I atrás, brazos abiertos.
5-83 valseados en vuelta a la I y caravana pié D atrás, brazos abiertos.
9-124 tiempos piés ligeramente separados y haciendo vaivén D, I, D, I.
  
 2. Circulos.
13-20Pié I arriba al frente y brazo D arriba al frente (alternando D e I) 10 veces, girar encirculo (cada persona con paso valseado 6 tiempos y 7 y 8 vuelta.
21-243 tiempos valseado hacia la I y 1, 2, 3 vuelta rapida sobre puntas y tiempo 4 caravana.
  
 3. Circulo grande.
1-22 valseados saliendo siempre con pié D al frente, brazos abiertos, quedando el pié D al frente se cierran los brazos al frente y se abren.
3-8= 1-2, 4 veces en todo.
9-16Salir a la D con 6 valseados formando circulo grande cada persona, -- vuelta a la D rapida 1, 2, 3, 4 sobre puntas y caravana.
  
 4. Paso cruzado.
1-4Abrir pié D lateral, pasar I atrás, abrir D lateral, pasar I adelante.
5-16= 1-4, 4 veces en todo.
17-24Salir -- formando circulo a la D cada persona 6 tiempos y vuelta rapida sobre las puntas de los piés y caravana.
  
 5. Finale.
1-24Pié I arriba al frente, con brazo D arriba y al frente alternando con I 10 veces, girar a la D formando circulo 3 tiempos y tiempo 4 caravana: vuelta a la I con 3 valseados y tiempo 4 caravana, vuelta a la D con 3 valseados, vuelta rapida 1, 2, 3, 4 y caravana.

BACKGROUND

This dance of Chiapas, Mexico, was presented by Felipa (Feli) Sánchez P. at the 1991 Festival Folklórico Internacional.

 1. Waltz steps.
1-43 waltz steps in turn to the R and caravana L foot behind, arms wide.
5-83 waltz steps in turn to the L and caravana R foot behind, arms wide.
9-124 times feet lightly seperated and making sway R, L, R, L.
  
 2. Circles.
13-20L foot raised in front and R arm raised in front (alternating R and L) 10 times, to turn in a circle (each person with waltz step 6 times and 7 and 8 turn.)
21-243 times waltz step dancing to L and 1, 2, 3 fast turn on the toes and time 4 caravana.
  
 3. Large circle.
1-22 waltz steps starting always with R foot in front, arms wide, leaving R foot in front close the arms in front and open.
3-8= 1-2, 4 times in all.
9-16Dance to the R with 6 waltz steps forming large circle each person, -- turn to the R rapidly 1, 2, 3, 4 on the toes and caravana.
  
 4. Grapevine. In the large circle:
1-4Open R foot to the side, pass L behind, open R to the side, pass L in front.
5-16= 1-4, 4 times in all.
17-24Dance -- forming circle to the R each person 6 times and fast turn on the toes of the feet and caravana.
  
 5. Finale.
1-24L foot raised in front, with R arm high and in front alternating with L 10 times, to turn to the R forming circle 3 times and time 4 caravana: turn to the L with 3 waltz steps and time 4 caravana, turn to the R with 3 waltz steps, fast turn 1, 2, 3, 4 and caravana.
